More instructive Python3 examples?

Hi folks,
I'm looking at writing a few simple set/get/forward services in hook to get the hang of things. I'm using Python3, and some of the basics are very hard to figure out "blindly", and the docs cater mostly to the JS API.

Examples that show the following would be helpful:

• Accessing Datastore API from Python (If it's supported at all?)
• Returning non-200 status codes
• Using response headers

...other stuff as may arise. I'll continue adding suggestions here. :)
