GUI: Unable to connect Github Copilot provider

There is no way to configure the Github Copilot Provider in the GUI, the provider itself is listed among others, but the detail page doesn't offer a possibility to connect to Copilot. The integration in the Goose CLI works great though!

You probably need to set GITHUB_TOKEN

The cli comes with an oauth flow, so the ui either needs to replicate that or force a user to figure out how to get a token

I am also experiencing this issue -> it is not possible to select provider "Github Copilot"

when I click "Github Copilot" this is displayed:

clicking "Submit" simply returns to initial screen and nothing happens...

@udos Seems like, for the time being, you can configure it in the CLI, but then switch back to the GUI

On version goose 1.0.29 copilot login via cli is broken. The CLI just asks for the token (giving no clues about how to get a token), and doesn't attempt to go through the device auth flow.

I downgraded the CLI to 1.0.26 (arbitrarily) and was able to login through device auth flow.

Can someone please provide step-by-step instructions on how to properly acquire this?

I’m having difficulties with Goose GUI using GitHub Copilot via Classic or Fine-Grained Personal Access Token.

Outcome is always the same:

“Ran into this error: Execution error: failed to get api info after 3 attempts.
Please retry if you think this is a transient or recoverable error."

@silentius-satoshi i managed to get it working by downgrading to 1.0.26 cli version - and then setting up the auth flow using that

this worked for a little while, before it lost my auth and i had to start all over again

tbh - even while it ~worked there were more bugs than interactions
