An experimental fork of Jekyll, by Bjørn Arild Mæland.
Has its own binary so it can easily be used alongside the main Jekyll gem (I
do!). New features include:
- Support for other page transformation engines (HAML, etc).
- Decoupling from the filesystem – no dictation of what your post files should
be named.
Attempt is made to refactor the code base where possible (e.g. the Site class in
Hyde is currently much smaller/more coherent than in Jekyll). Hopefully there
will be interest in pulling (some) of these changes back into the Jekyll mainline.

Jekyll is a simple, blog aware, static site generator. It takes a template directory (representing the raw form of a website), runs it through Textile or Markdown and Liquid converters, and spits out a complete, static website suitable for serving with Apache or your favorite web server. This is also the engine behind GitHub Pages, which you can use to host your project’s page or blog right here from GitHub.
