Releases: boyestrous/elite-vr-cockpit
Beta-0.9.41
Fixes two problems with the Z movement in the map mode:
- Some users were reporting that the map would scroll infinitely up/down, if the throttle wasn't zeroed out before entering the map
- Some users were unable to control the Z movement on the map at all (which is supposed to be triggered with the left-hand grip button)
Adds a sample SavedState.json file, which could be copied as a starting place for a new player.
- saved in the Documentation folder
Beta-v0.9.5
- Added bindings validation. Prevents user from starting the Overlay before bindings errors are fixed.
- Simplified Holographic Button placement (old controls moved to Advanced Mode)
- Improved Debug information available on the Help tab. Can automatically submit Issues to Github
- Added SavedState file manager. Users can now set up different sets of holographic controls and load them at will. This will allow different sets of buttons per ship or whatever other scenario the user could imagine
** Bug Fixes **
- Fixed issue where the joystick would pull fully left and forward when exiting map mode

On Foot controls notes
Elite Dangerous VR is not really designed to work when the player is outside of their ship. You will see a 2D screen, like a big-screen view, with holographic controls in front of you.
Performance in Odyssey mode (on foot) is notoriously worse than In-Ship, so lower spec machines may have to tweak their graphics settings to get good frame rates. This is not caused by the EVRC Overlay. At a minimum, you can set your HMD Resolution and Supersampling to 0.85x for better performance (at a cost of worse graphics).
The Custom.4.0.binds file in the Documentation folder has been updated to include bindings for all of the on-foot controls. These can also be modified safely through the in-game controls interface. Just make sure all of the buttons have at least one binding. See the Getting Started document for more details.
