Originally opened as adobe/brackets#7549

I just downloaded Sprint 38 on my Windows 7 machine and I'm noticing frequent hangs/lagging when editing and even just scrolling; unfortunately it was to the point that I had to uninstall and revert to Sprint 37.

I'm happy to provide any further details to assist in finding a fix.

@nickpish, can you try Reload Without Extensions and see if it helps? Also, turning Highlight Active Line off in the View menu. Do either (or both) of these changes help?

Ah ok... I'll give that shot and report back. The only extension I currently have installed in W3C Validation...

Actually, I'm seeing there's an update for the W3C Validation extension-- perhaps this takes care of the issue.

@nickpish, actually this is probably something different than just extensions. See issue #7552.

And let us know what happens.

Ok-- I can confirm that the Code Folding extension seems to be the issue... on one Brackets install I have the W3C Validation extension and the Code Folding one; on another I have just the former and it seems to be ok.

@nickpish, good to know. Issue #7552 turned out to be caused by the code folding extension as well.

Closing as extension problem.

Can you see if this issue has been filed for the extension and, if it has not, file an issue so the extension author can work on the problem?

@nickpish, never mind, the issue has already been filed: thehogfather/brackets-code-folding#55
