This looks like it should be really useful. irc kind of lost the critical mass for being good enough for discussion sadly. |

Yeah, we also get a lot of trouble shooting or library usage issues that
can be converted into discussions with a single button.

I’m running btcd as well as bitcoind but I see IBD on btcd is painfully slow and no way to speed up. Plus I don’t think electrum/fulcrum/etc runs on top of btcd!but if you write go compatibility is better interacting with btcd than bitcoind.On 08-Dec-2023, at 12:09 AM, maksym p. ***@***.***> wrote:

lets say today 15k activate nodes on average(https://bitnodes.io/), how many of them are running on btcd ?

A long time ago there was a torrent of the bitcoin block data up to a certain point. I think what happened was the combination of maintaining it, hosting it, and trusting it combined to be more of a problem than anyone wanted to deal with so it sort of stopped. There may have been some other details there but it was a long time ago so I'm a little fuzzy on it. |
