Can't see data for the nordictrack exp10i #1126
Comments
@ocuavas I checked the log and I don't see any data from the companion app. Are you sure the companion app is up and running? could you also share a wolflog from the treadmill itself? |
Hi, attached a new log (this time I can see the iniciar speed but not moving from there) also some images of the companion app in the treadmill tablet. |
hi @ocuavas this is all that i found in the log
so i need a wolflog from the tablet directly. grab it before pushing stop on the workout. Thanks! |
How can I get it?

no @ocuavas with the windows pc, you can use the adb command to pull the wolflogs directory to your pc and send it here. also you will able to do a adb logcat directly from there and paste the result here. |
so can you send me how can I do this?

I tried again installing it through adb but same problem, sometimes it can
detect it but only shows an initial speed and that's all, nothing else, if
I close the app and start again then it doesn't detect the treadmill

adb pull /sdcard/logcat.* let me know! |
also adb pull /sdcard/.wolflogs/* could be helpful |
Hi Roberto,
I think I know what is happening, everytime I reset the tabled the usb
debugging is lost for some reason so the device goes offline and never come
back:
PS C:\platform-tools> adb devices
List of devices attached
10.0.0.132:5555 device
PS C:\platform-tools> adb devices
List of devices attached
10.0.0.132:5555 device
PS C:\platform-tools> adb devices
List of devices attached
10.0.0.132:5555 device
PS C:\platform-tools> adb devices
List of devices attached
10.0.0.132:5555 device
PS C:\platform-tools> adb devices
List of devices attached
10.0.0.132:5555 offline
so I have to go to privileged mode again and toggle usb debugging and then
the device is online again from adb.
any suggestions?

@victorypoint any help? |
@ocuavas , are you using the latest install of QZ companion? It includes a solution so your machine always boots in privileged mode with USB debugging on. |
I think so, I downloaded the one in GitHub and follow the instructions to
install it with adb

Ok, as long as you don't reset your machine, privileged mode and usb debugging will stay on indefinitely between power cycles, reboots and updates. |
Agreed, not sure why it is being deactivated when doing a reboot, what I'm
going to do is a factory reset and install again, let's see

Tried the factory reset and a clean installation but it continues turning
off the USB debugging, even though it looks active when access the
priviledge mode you can't reach the machine from adb, I have to toggle
(turn off and on again) and then the device comes alive from adb.
Not sure what is going on...

@ocuavas beside of this (you need to turn it on each time) do you see the metrics? |
No because I can't go back to the ifit app to start the treadmill and test
without restarting it

@ocuavas mmm maybe i can be wrong @victorypoint correct me in case, but once that the companion is installed, we can use it with adb (at least for reading the metrics), isn't it? |
Correct @cagnulein . Once QZ Companion is installed, there is no need to enable privileged mode or usb debugging to be turned on if we are just reading metrics. However, we cracked the privileged problem so it and usb debugging stick (stays on) all the time between reboots. This is what confused me about @ocuavas problem. Anyways, @ocuavas, QZ Companion should be running and sending metrics with or without privileged mode and usb debugging turned on or off. When both are turned on, you should at least be able to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see the 3 Android navigation buttons. The square one allows you to swipe between open apps. The circle takes you to the desktop. The back arrow goes back a previous screen. Let us know if this is working for you. |
But if the connection to adb is lost means reading metrics will not work
right?
Or do you want me to just jump to the ifit app and try without reseting the
tablet?
Thanks

no @ocuavas the adb connection is required only for 2 things:
metrics reading, instead, doesn't require an always on adb, that's way that i was asking about the metrics |
It is now working! Did a second try with reseting and installing all from
scratch.
All good now, thank you

Hi,
I'm having a problem with the nordictrack connection to QZ, I installed the companion app in the treadmill tablet, all permissions assigned. I can see the treadmill detected in the phone app (android) but I can't see the data transmitted from the treadmill, sometimes I can see a first value (2km/h) but it doesn't move from there, most of the time no data is visible even though it is showing as connected.
