Description

Documentation for the Advanced SaaS Offering with increased uptime project.

👋 🤖 🤔 Hello! Did you make your changes in all the right places?

These files were changed only in docs/. You might want to duplicate these changes in versioned_docs/version-8.5/.

  • docs/components/best-practices/architecture/sizing-your-environment.md
  • docs/components/concepts/clusters.md
  • docs/components/console/manage-clusters/create-cluster-include.md
  • docs/components/console/manage-clusters/img/cluster-creating-modal.png

You may have done this intentionally, but we wanted to point it out in case you didn't. You can read more about the versioning within our docs in our documentation guidelines.

Development clusters, available in the Starter and Enterprise plans, are recommended for development, testing, proof of concepts, and demos.

I think here we should then add the input from @rodrigo-lourenco-lopes

@felix-mueller @rodrigo-lourenco-lopes I've added the table into the sizing your runtime page along with the starred explanations - just need the final figures 👍

@hisImminence I have committed the latest changes to the docs, takes about ~20 minutes to rebuild the preview environment.

In summary:

  • Updated create a cluster page with screenshot, text etc
  • Updated sizing your environment table and other edits where necessary
  • Updated clusters concept page to incorporate Aaron feedback and other edits.

I think that is probably good enough for a first iteration of the docs now, please review.

The only thing that might be good to do is a good point Aaron raised - we could add an example in here to make it clearer about sizes & reservations? Do you have a good example we could add in?

Each size increase uses one of your available cluster reservations.

@mesellings, just realized we can do a new screenshot as well of the cluster creation page with 4 cluster size options (link to the page)

@mesellings already adjusted it

Merged docs to ensure they will be in the 8.6 release, I will get a TW review following this merge.

Also, confirmed via Slack that we don't need to backport docs to previous versions unless notified:

...that current customers can still purchase “older cluster sizes like S/M/L” and with 8.6 we introduce the availability tiers (which are also just working good because we have zeebes FlowControl features with 8.6…)
--> I would just do it for the 8.6 docs!

Not urgent, but it doesn't look like this got a retro TW review yet.

More importantly, I was wondering if there were any changes on the website similar to these changes. Was this part of the conversation? Or is this also something that needs a follow up? (Or do we not talk about cluster sizing on the website?)

@akeller This does still need a TW retro review, I'll set one up asap. Regarding the website (I assume you mean the corporate site?) I don't think the pricing/plans page needs changing, as the cluster model changes don't affect this e.g. on the https://camunda.com/pricing/ page, but I'll double-check with Immi and Felix 👍
