The emitter error() method could offer a way for the user to format the error message e.g. adding a prefix such as "Error: ".

That would be pretty handy!

Additionally, I suggest to offer a way to output error messages e.g. in red.
If you decide to implement colored output, please also have a look at https://no-color.org/
