This repository hosts the code for new ShakeMap development. ShakeMap is the software developed by the U.S. Geological Survey for producing near-real-time maps of ground motion and shaking intensity. Background on the system and the previous generation of code can be found in the ShakeMap 3.5 Manual.

The current (in development) version of ShakeMap is referred to as ShakeMap v4, and we currently maintain a manual, API, and command line interface documentation. The manual includes background information on how the software is designed, validation test cases, and guidelines for contributing code to this project. The API includes documentation of the ShakeMap functions, primarily useful for developers. The command line interface documents the programs that ShakeMap operators will need to be familiar with.

The purpose of this wiki is to provide a step-by-step tutorial that covers the installation of ShakeMap v4 and some simple examples.
