First of, your's seems to be the most complete catkinized version of ORB_SLAM I have encountered. Great job on that and thanks from the community.
I encountered this issue in Kinetic, not sure if it is a problem with Indigo. Running the rosnode segfaults during optimization at the first bundle adjustment in g2o. This compiler flag desribed in
raulmur/ORB_SLAM2#341 seems to solve the issue.
