There are a number of pieces of "boilerplate" code that we're using in tilecal, hgcal prototype, and the example apps, that we should move accel:

helper for offloading supported particles
create an along-step based on a field strength (T) (Add UniformAlongStepFactory for Geant4 integration #702)
set up local logger in SharedParams (maybe?)
MT+serial front end for user actions with exception handling
