dwm - dynamic window manager
============================
dwm is an extremely fast, small, and dynamic window manager for X.


Requirements
------------
In order to build dwm you need the Xlib header files.


Installation
------------
Edit config.mk to match your local setup (dwm is installed into
the /usr/local namespace by default).

Afterwards enter the following command to build and install dwm (if
necessary as root):

    make clean install
    

Running dwm
-----------
Add the following line to your .xinitrc to start dwm using startx:

    exec dwm

In order to connect dwm to a specific display, make sure that
the DISPLAY environment variable is set correctly, e.g.:

    DISPLAY=foo.bar:1 exec dwm

(This will start dwm on display :1 of the host foo.bar.)

In order to display status info in the bar, you can do something
like this in your .xinitrc:

    while xsetroot -name "`date` `uptime | sed 's/.*,//'`"
    do
    	sleep 1
    done &
    exec dwm


Configuration
-------------
The configuration of dwm is done by modifying config.def.h, after which

make clean install

should be run to apply the configuration changes



Plugins Installed
-------------
This fork of dwm provides several patches to enhance the user experience
- Alpha: Allow for transparency in the window borders and status bar
- Fullgaps: Gaps between windows. Can be adjusted with super + +/- and defaults can be set with super + shift + +/-
- Fibonacci: Provides the fibonacci type spiral layouts
- barheight: Allows for manual adjustment of the bar height
- movestack: Swap positions of windows in the stack, useful for rearranging windows
- barpadding: float status bar in window
- centerwindowname: center window title in status bar
- staticstatus: keep system stats only on one monitor (default behavior is for stats to follow focused window)
- centeredmaster: adds centered master layout

- uses dmenu-chandlerj which is available at this repo:
    https://github.com/chandlerj/dmenu-chandlerj
  dmenu is set to open in the center of the screen using the -c flag
- includes support for the dmenu plugin bmks which provides bookmarks
- uses rstatus for status bar; available at:
