Just configured SOCKS proxy using an SSH server. After connecting to open network, Sidestep icon changes suggesting it has connected to SSH server. But I don't see any changes to SOCKS proxy. The browser also shows same external IP address before and after Sidestep connects. Am I missing something? Am I supposed to see SOCKS proxy enabled after Sidestep connects to SSH server?

What browser are you using?

Chrome. Though I see same behavior with Safari.

BTW, by manually enabling SOCKS proxy in network settings, it works. So the SSH server connection is not an issue for sure.

When you first started sidestep did you get a popup asking for your password and permission to change the network settings ?

I don't remember seeing any popup. But I will try removing and reinstalling it again.

I've seen this problem too.

In my case, sidestep did ask for my password to change network configuration.
But SOCK proxy still disable, check for external IP in Chrome/Safari/Firefox shows unsecure IP.
