Turns out that checkout-index can acutally be passed multiple paths (like most git commands). This should give the same performance increase as before but without needing an extra argument and including the benefit for everyone else. Thanks @demonyangyue!

Hey,
We share with you the AWS S3 backend implementation.
Please have a look and let me know about what else should be required in order to have a release of git-fat with this feature. We tested it on Linux and Windows 8 manually.
As a note, I've merged your master branch into my branch in order to get some of the commits which does not exist on your develop.
