📃 Iteration 55 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Typing improvements (migration to beforeInput, better IME support) – this will span across a few iterations.
• Migration to TypeScript – this will span across a few iterations.
• Accessibility improvements – this will span across a few iterations, the first batch of changes: Accessibility fixes batch 1 #11981.
• Track changes integration with new features: code blocks ✅, HTML embed ✅, document lists, styles dropdown, image URL balloon. This will be released gradually.

Bug fixes

• Document lists stabilization – this will span across a few iterations
• Styles dropdown stabilization – this will span across a few iterations

Finally, some more bug fixes and minor improvements are planned for the 55th iteration. See the list of issues closed in the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for Jul 20th, 2022, followed by releasing npm packages on Aug 3rd, 2022.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change, and even though we put all our energy into delivering all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
