📃 Iteration 42 roadmap

This post outlines our targets for the upcoming iteration. The goal is to provide a summary of where we are going.

New features / enhancements

• Inline images - support multiple images in a single block - this was already started and spans through multiple iterations due to the scope of the proposed changes
• Adding captions to tables - will be finished in the next iteration
• Support for nested tables - merged 🎉
• Support for nested block quotes - merged 🎉
• Support for the deprecated align attribute - merged 🎉

Bug fixes

• Empty config.initialData is overwritten with data from the DOM - merged 🎉
• Watchdog should not import CKEditor 5 utils as this leads to package duplication problem in integrations - merged 🎉
• An entire table cell can be dragged - merged 🎉
• The selection is stuck in read-only mode - merged 🎉
• While setting attributes upon upcast conversion, attributes that had already been set were overridden, causing text styles to not be properly converted - merged 🎉

Finally, there are some more bug fixes and minor improvements planned for the 42nd iteration. See the list of issues assigned to the current iteration for more details.

Dates

The code freeze is planned for April 14, 2021, followed by releasing npm packages on April 21, 2021.

Please keep in mind that these plans are subject to change and even though we put all our energy to deliver all the items mentioned above, the iteration plan may change at any point.
