Since our logo is the lighthouse I have some cool pictures I took this summer at beavertail park of an intense sunset and waves crashing. Plus, there is also one of the light house at dusk. They might have the right theme for branding and such. Is there a place to send them?

Also I sent the pictures I took last night to Ryan but would be happy to send them your way.

I added the photos @jamesrhaley took last night along with some others to the Code Island Docs Repo https://github.com/codeisland/Code-Island-Docs/tree/master/Core%20Materials/Photos

Feel free to clone repo and add more images.

@theryankelly I just pushed the some photos to the master. Local flavor is
always good for branding in my opinion. Also this is my first time pushing
to another person repo so please let me know if I didn't do something right.

@jamesrhaley sorry I didn't get to check in with you at the last meetup. The lighthouse and coastal landscapes look nice. I'd like to see more! I think there is a possible theme for the images we want to use on the site: civilization. Evidence of people coming together to solve collective problems. The lighthouse is actually a good example of this spirit. But by itself it seems to overly focus on the coastal beauty of the state.

What do you think?

@goldenmeanie I agree. The question is what represents "Evidence of
people coming together to solve collective problems" here in Rhode Island.
The first thing that came to my mind as a interesting photography subject
is something to do with education. I really love that the fellows gave our
state the pre-k enrollment app and I think it would be nice to honor that
in some way. What do you think? Was there a particular angle that brought
you to this conclusion?

On a side note I always go to google images for ideas and this came up when
I typed in "collective problems." While a good Simpson angry mob might not
be the right subject it would get a reaction!

This is my personal view of what we're doing. It's the plumbing work of civilization, building infrastructure that enables other efforts.

I think there are examples of this that run from the concrete, like bridges and bike paths to the more etherial, like the Ticket to Ride app.

This type of thing will work best as background images and textures rather than as featured, inset images. I'm thinking of promoting a general feeling, not featuring specific examples. We should do that too, but I think should happen in the blog posts and project pages. That stuff should be more literal.

@goldenmeanie lets have a chat about this at the next meeting. It would be
great if you had a couple of sample pictures of what you are thinking of.
