Description

The compact conversation button unable to compact the conversation and hangs.
Also the "@" dropdown flickers while it tries to compact the conversation.
Reproducible always.

To reproduce

1. ask any question
2. wait for response
3. after response, press the compact conversation button
4. press multiple times the compact button it hangs, waiting time is too long
