I'm stuck on this page and not sure what I'm doing wrong. I get to step 6 in the first section and I can't get my iPhone to open the ip address page.

Just to confirm a few things

  1. Fiddler is actually running when you attempt to do this
  2. The Url you are trying to browse to is not literally
http://FiddlerMachineIP, but rather you've replaced FiddlerMachineIP with
    your actual IP
  3. you haven't set your wifi proxy on the connection yet

I did set up the proxy and try it but it didn't work both before or after I did it. Going to try again.

Also, are you on a home network or work/school?

I removed the proxy and it worked. Should I keep the proxy off or what? I'm using home network.

Add it back after you get done with the step about installing the
certificate

So the instructions are just out of order? Very odd.. let me try it here.

My instructions or the ones at the link you posted? Because at the link you
posted it doesn't talk about setting the device proxy until later. I can't
check my instructions at the moment though

Your instructions say to do this first as step one.

As for what I linked you, I opened the page and then it tells me to set up the proxy before installing the certificate. Can you give me instructions since the ones that were linked are incorrect?

I'm going from memory. The ones at the link you posted should be
authoritative, so follow those and if you still get stuck, let me know. If
mine contradict what it says anywhere then i need to fix mine.

Once Fiddler is setup, on your iOS device, do the following:

  • Connect to the same wireless network that the Fiddler host is on
  • Configure the iOS device to use the Fiddler proxy.
  • Open Safari and navigate to http://<your fiddler host ip>:8888 . Replace the with the actual IP of your machine running Fiddler - the final URL will look something like http://192.168.1.103:8888.
  • If the basic functionality of the proxy is working, you should see a "Fiddler Echo" page.
  • Install the Fiddler certificate on your iOS device by clicking on the "Install Certificate" link near the bottom of the 'Fiddler Echo' page.

Reminder: You should have already setup Fiddler before doing the above on the iOS device! That means having setup Fiddler's preferences to accept remote connections and having generated a certificate to decrypt https traffic, among other details. If your Fiddler setup doesn't look like this pic from the FFRK Inspector setup instructions, the above won't work:
