API does not respond after a function call

This may be an issue more with the underlying API than your code, but in my testing the API does not respond after making a function call. For example, if I ask a question about the page, the API will do the call to get the HTML code but then remain silent until I ask something else. It will then respond with the correct answer. I did adapt your code into a single page solution, but my code should be functionally the same as yours. Am I doing something wrong or is this just how the API works at this point?

Update: you have to request a response in your code with

dataChannel.send(JSON.stringify({type:"response.create"}));

immediately after sending the function response.
