I really enjoyed your presentation on this, and decided to whip up a Julia implementation while waiting for a delayed flight 😄 . The performance is no different than just doing it serially (I'm guessing due to saturating the read bandwidth of the disk?), but I'm pleased with how concise and readable the code is!
