Cannot get sms to work on Verizon #103

I've been trying for hours to get mmcli to send a text via terminal on Verizon with no luck. It works with AT&T. I have a data connection on Verizon but no sms. Any guidance? When I try to send via
It hangs for a long time then says:
If I try to send via AT commands it gives Error 350. When I moved back to another phone or other device running Linux with a different modem it sends with no problem with commands above. All msgs come in and send once the sim is placed in another device. Here's the details from

Did some quick googling and it seems to be a CDMA-capable carrier specific issue. See: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=9838&page=2 Someone was able to fix it by calling Verizon and getting them to provision their SIM as CDMA-less and that fixed it. All I have to say is, good luck with that. It may be worth posting on the ModemManager mailing list. There may be something they can do to solve the issue for all users of ModemManager, if you are willing to engage with them to provide debug information or access. I would make sure you point to the PinePhone thread when you do so. One other thing you might want to consider is flashing the Verizon version of the firmware, that may change a modem setting to make SMS work. That is likely one of the first things the MM people will ask you to do. To flash the latest Verizon firmware, this should do the trick: |
