Updated Log4j dependency of Datavyu 1.3.7 and may be a required upgrade for security purposes by many institutions.

This release is the preferred version for MacOS machines. This version uses QuickTime (QT) player as the default plugin.

Why not usee the latest 1.5+ release? The 1.5+ releases use a custom FFMPEG plugin, which provides functionality on Windows machines, but does not play back as smoothly (on Mac or Windows). If you want to ensure identical playback across Windows and Mac machines for a project, then please use 1.5+. However, if you will only use Mac machines, then 1.3.8 release may perform better.

What do I do if I receive a message that Datavyu can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software? This error message is a warning message displayed by Apple since the Datavyu was not created by an Apple-authorized developer. However, all known security issues with Datavyu have been patched. Please navigate to your system preferences and open security and privacy settings. Navigate to the 'Allow apps downloaded' section and click on 'Open Anyway'.
