rofi-lbonn-wayland-git coredumping after updating my system #1932
-
I noticed that after updating my system today rofi started coredumping. I first though this might be a config issue so I moved my ~/.config/rofi to ~/.config/rofi.bak but that didn't help so I reversed this operation. I then thought let's try to downgrade I went all the way to 1.7.5.wayland1 using the AUR package I am using garuda linux a distro based on arch and I am on hyprland. Here are the updates,
This is the error in terminal,
This error is same and consistent no matter I use just Here is the rofi theme gist, https://gist.github.com/siddharthkumarjha/8b230344e25a057b904b7591cd16970a and config gist, https://gist.github.com/siddharthkumarjha/da593d6c835d325bb07bbad00d784155 please note both the commands to generate these dumps,
and
put this error at the end of the output,
Does any one here have any idea on what might be causing this issue? |

@siddharthkumarjha my guess is it is caused by chaotic-aur which built this package with old dependencies. Can you try to rebuild it yourself with makepkg or some other AUR wrapper? |

Ok I am not sure why this worked but I basically rolled back to a snapshot before the rofi update essentially downgrading all the packages that had updated in the original post and then performed the update again which fixed the issue for some reason...? Maybe an update to some dependency helped but anyway the issue resolved itself. Have rebooted quite a few times just to check if behavior comes back. Will update in case it does.
