Names column scroll lock #112
Comments
This has been raised before. It is possible to write code to lock the first column, but it can be tricky to get right. I'd be happy to review a patch, if you have access to a developer who can look at it. Otherwise, it's something I'm unlikely to get around to doing in my spare time. |
Hi Davo
Thanks so much for the response. We have tried a bunch of different codes on CSS with a developer, but it does not seem to “stick”.
I understand that you do this in your sparetime, is there a possibility to write a code/fix the column if our company pays for it? We have used the checklist module 3244 times on our site already, so this is a crucial component for us.

Have you tried simply grading the students one at a time, by using the 'view' icon, beside their name? That would be a lot easier than scrolling across and trying to keep track of which row you're on. As it happens, I'm not working today, but it's raining far too much to really go outside, so I'll have a bit of a prod around and see if I can get anywhere. |
Thanks Dave. Because we use the checklist function for our practical assessments, the lecturers don't always mark in the correct order or according to the student list, and also a few per criteria at once. Thanks for having a look I appreciate it! |
Fix Names column scroll lock davosmith#112
When scrolling through the items on the checklist to mark the items, the names column is not frozen (like on the grader report), and it is easy to lose track of which student you are grading, especially if there are alot of items to grade.
