This repository contains libraries and tools for manipulating different files and formats used by Acorn 8-bit range of computers, such as SSD and DSD files containing DFS and ADFS format disk images, and UEF files containing cassette data.
Tools for converting data between formats and examples showing how to use the modules are also provided.
The aim is to provide libraries, modules, tools and examples for a variety of programming languages, including Python 2 and Python 3.
ADFSlib.py
Defines structures for many of the features of ADFS floppy disk formats. Used mainly for reading existing disk images.diskutils.py
Defines abstractions such as files and directories with features that are common to many of the Acorn filing systems.makedfs.py
Defines structures such as disks and catalogues that are specific to DFS. Used mainly for writing new disk images.UEFfile.py
Contains an abstraction of a UEF file that can be used to read and modify existing files, and write new ones.
ADF2INF.py
Unpacks files from ADFS floppy disk images to the local filing system with associated.inf
meta-data files.INF2UEF.py
Reads collections of files on the local filing system with associated.inf
meta-data files and packages them in new UEF files.SSD2UEF.py
Creates a UEF file containing the files found within a given SSD disk image. This uses theUEFfile
module which is not currently included in this repository.T2INF.py
Extracts files from Slogger T2* files to the local filing system with associated.inf
meta-data files.T2UEF.py
Extracts files from Slogger T2* files and stores them in new UEF files for use with emulators or audio playback tools.UEF2INF.py
Extracts files from UEF files to the local filing system with associated.inf
meta-data files.
make_dfs_disk.py
Creates a DFS disk image with a given name, containing the files specified as arguments on the command line.
