header looks goofy in github previews

I went to fix a typo using the web ui, and the preview reminded me of this issue:

I lean toward switching to a modern jamstack thing like 11ty (#166) or maybe vitepress a la Agoric/documentation#971 ... but first, maybe it's worth cleaning up tiny things like this?

But first, since I don't use nix to nail down everything about the build, how does it currently work?

Cannot reproduce problem

The symptoms magically disappeared?

I added the markup (38f7541) ran a local ./site build to reproduce the exception. But I got no exception. It went fine. Then a local netlify build went fine. Finally, pushing went fine.
