QuickMsg was based on the same goals and ideas and also supports encryption (via openpgp). Maybe there is room for cooperation?

Thank you for the hint.
AFAIK QuickMsg does not support sending message to non-QuickMsg accounts. But you're right, maybe there is code that can be re-used.
