Hey Dero is a very cool looking project.

I'm a big Golang fan and I'm looking for a blockchain substrate.

The non-MIT license is, as I'm sure you know, a showstopper at present. I can't build a smart contract using app on top of such a license.

If you mean for dero to be useful to the public at large, you'll need to provide an open source license.

Thank you.

Jason

Maybe once smart contracts and all features are added, it should be open source license. I dont see any real reason to now other than allowing other projects who want to copy/fork and create shitcoins.

How would that affect DERO in anyway whatsoever? And if the license changes *if( the smart contracts are added, what would prevent "shitcoins" from being made then? How does it even matter in the end?

Its a pity for the Dero project and the community to have a non-free license. There are very useful and well programmed things on the derosuite that could be reused and improved by the open source community. I don't really see the point for not changing to a copyleft restrictive license such as GPLv3 or AGPLv3. That would obligate anyone using code from Dero to publish their code too, so its a win-win situation.

Regarding the "shitcoins" problem, do you really think that's gonna be a issue? Have the shitcoins affected negatively Bitcoin, Monero or Ethereum? Probably the opposite, these projects have learned and increased developer community thanks to third-party blockchains implementation.

Please @CaptainDero & company think about it.
