This works in hugo 0.19 but in none of the 0.20 releases.

I'm having the same with my project - double checked with the example site and its doing the same - blank screens for anything other than the main index page

Any thoughts on whats causing this, not sure where to even start in tracking down a fix :/

No, I had a quick look but couldn't see anything obvious. I rolled back to Hugo .19. I think its probably something to do with default index page handling. I tested other theme demo sites and they all seemed OK so I think its probably a theme issue rather than a HUGO issue.

I'm getting 404s aka not generated list pages. Direct links seem to work fine. @digitalcraftsman paging as it's breaking usage.

No time yet to debug further.

Not sure if this will help other people, but changing my weightings, fixed the example, and my site. So starting at -110, instead of 0 :/ weird but fixes order of pages, and next page links etc.

This was an issue with the hugo0.20 discussed here. It is fixed in hugo 0.20.6 release notes
