About The Pull Request

Do not merge until NTs immune to forcesay!
Adds new litany. It kills the user and detaches his cruciform.
Definitely needs a better name.

Why It's Good For The Game

Slightly speeds up the cloning process.

Currently, folk wanting cloning are commonly not dead, just damaged. Easy cruciform removal via the litany needs the body to be dead. So usually they undress, and either kill themselves or someone else, like the preacher, kill them.

So technically this is already happening in a far more barbaric way. Leopold, like many others, hope for a mechanical way to speed this up.

Now personally I disagree with this functionality alone.

I believe it should be Recall. Say the litany, the cruciform ejects and teleports to the Last Shelter. Stammering should not let the litany function, so they can't macro it and gyp an antag out of his reward. Entreaty already works mid combat, this shouldn't.

This means anyone lost in space, or maint, or just giving up, are retrievable, albiet without their items.

A byproduct of this could be the Martyr upgrade activating, creating actual suicide NT members without risk to the cruciform being lost in the explosion. Personally, I find this hysterical.

well, they don't actually die before the cruciform ejects, so the explosion shouldn't trigger, right?

Would be funny if they did though, as currently the Martyr upgrade isn't manually activated without just blowin' ones brains out. Rig deadman switches can be manually activated.

Stammering should not let the litany function

Switches to Jive.

Me, an ascended intellectual, forcing the benighted witch hunters to say their assigned kill-phrase with my enlightened mind.

as a quick question, why the damage vs gibbing?

I assume because the goal is to reduce mess, not increase it.

The only way I think this should be merged is if NT remains susceptible to Force Say.

Mostly because being able to speak a litany and die, when shooting yourself in the head, or just getting fukken medical care are also options, is absolutely insane and is an OOC mechanic for player convenience without consideration for the characters. If NT are so "unafraid" of dying, enough to be able to pray the gay away, then they shouldn't fear someone else doing it to them. They're immortal, why care, right?

So you should suffer for it, and have it be a built-in vulnerability. Or give up.

I assume because the goal is to reduce mess, not increase it.

My concern is that I'm not 100% sure that damage will reliably kill the caster vs gibbing. The other worry is that gibbing might not leave behind a cruciform. Being messy doesn't seem like an issue for NT

The detach proc should kill the man regardless, just like when you remove it via surgery.

Did that get fixed? Last I heard surgical removal didn't kill for some reason.

I'd like this tested with force say. Depending on result I'll approve.

It was tested with force say
Litany triggered, cruciform popped out, disciple died.
That's why I added comment to not merge this for now.
