When enabling auto-refresh on the waffle map with data being displayed, a loading spinner replaces the whole waffle map in a disruptive way:

waffle-auto-reload-spinner-flash-2018-10-04

When reloading with data already present, the waffle map should remain visible and usable instead. The auto-reloading state is being signaled in the date picker already.
