Steps to reproduce

On 1.9.0, there is a regression which may be related to the fix for #5932 in #6565:

  • From another account, send a notification into a thread
  • Open the notification
  • The app will open the thread but:
    • it does not display the new message from the notification
    • the syncing popup will stay forever
