Entropy : Zero Mod Template

Summary

This release is a template mod that you can use to create maps and mods for Entropy : Zero. It also contains the map source files (VMFs) for Entropy : Zero. The same template minus the map source files is generated by building the code for the Entropy : Zero project.

How to use

The mod_ez1 folder will go in your sourcemods directory in Your Steam Directory\steamapps\sourcemods. The next time you launch steam, it will appear in your games library as "My First Entropy : Zero Mod". (You may wish to rename this mod folder, but here it will be referred to as mod_ez1)

To create maps for this template, you will need to configure Hammer to point to the template rather than the original game. You can find Hammer.exe in Your Steam Directory\steamapps\common\Entropy Zero\Entropy Zero\bin.

To configure, open Hammer with the Episode Two configuration, then open the Tools -> Options menu.

In the 'Game Data Files' list box, remove halflife2.fgd with the remove button. Then add the file mod_ez1/fgd/EntropyZero.fgd. This will give you access to the manhack weapon.

In the "Game Directory" text field, replace $SteamUserDir\Entropy Zero\Entropy Zero\ep2 with $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\mod_ez1. Replace the Hammer VMF directory with $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\mod_ez1\mapsrc.

Your settings should look like this:

Finally, go to the 'Build Programs' tab. On the last text field, replace $SteamUserDir\Entropy Zero\Entropy Zero\ep2\maps with $SteamDir\steamapps\sourcemods\mod_ez1\maps.

You should be ready to use hammer to edit Entropy: Zero maps!

Version EZ1v4.0

This mod template corresponds to the Entropy : Zero version 4 release. You can watch the trailer for the patch 3.0 update here: https://youtu.be/QFzdJvpFsyw

Version 1.0

It is important to note that the 'v1.0' in the tag refers to the first version of the mod template, not the first version of the game. There have been multiple versions of the game released through Steam, the most recent as of the mod template being version 3.
