[Bug] Unable to assign status to task from dropdown

Description
User is unable to assign a status to a new task from the task creation dropdown. After clicking on chosen status, the dropdown closes unexpectedly.

Expected Condition
User should be able to pick the status and click confirm, then the status should be updated immediately on the UI for the user to see.
