Ditch the 'featured' tab #503
Comments
Absolutely. I was using the Latin meaning of featured: "Not Ruby Bob" From a high level perspective I would like the homepage to entice users to do the thing that builds a sense of safety. Convey that this is a safe place to submit code.Whatever the opposite of shame is, I want the default page to radiate THAT. I don't know how to do that. I suspect a jumbled list of submissions is nothing but noise. On Aug 15, 2013, at 1:04 AM, Katrina Owen notifications@github.com wrote:

Yeah, me too. |
Get rid of the featured tab. Fixes #503.
@theotherzach I'd love to get your thoughts on this.
I'd love to not ever mix languages in a single list.
I think it might be helpful to put some stats or links or something on a person's dashboard, but not have a huge list of assignments. Maybe a small handful, not looking like the other lists, just as a teaser to pull people in or something.
What do you think?
