Upgrade to Major version 5 fails the jest tests

My application has currently react-scripts 4.x, craco 6.x, jest-circus 24.x with custom jest environment as below and trying to migrate with react-scripts 5.x, craco 7.x, jest-circus 27.x:

Package.json:

test script in package.json:
"test": "CI=craco test --testRunner='jest-circus/runner' --env='./src/MyCustomEnv.js' --verbose --forceExit",

With these upgrades, getVmContext() needs to overriden which I have added in custom code as:

getVmContext() {
    return this.getVmContext;
  }

Now I am getting below error all tests:

 ● Test suite failed to run

    TypeError [ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE]: The "object" argument must be of type object. Received function getVmContext

      at Runtime._execModule (node_modules/jest-runtime/build/index.js:1602:26)

What could be wrong here?

Issue was in :

getVmContext() {
    return this.getVmContext;
  }
