Summary

I have come across the deprecation warning below in my Node 16 environment:

[DEP0148] DeprecationWarning: Use of deprecated folder mapping "./" in the "exports" field module resolution of the package at /root/my-project/node_modules/react/package.json.
Update this package.json to use a subpath pattern like "./*".

The official description of the problem DEP0148: Folder mappings in "exports" (trailing "/") and the solution Subpath patterns.

How did you test this change?

Hi @rnarkk!

Thank you for your pull request and welcome to our community.

Action Required

In order to merge any pull request (code, docs, etc.), we require contributors to sign our Contributor License Agreement, and we don't seem to have one on file for you.

Process

In order for us to review and merge your suggested changes, please sign at https://code.facebook.com/cla. If you are contributing on behalf of someone else (eg your employer), the individual CLA may not be sufficient and your employer may need to sign the corporate CLA.

Once the CLA is signed, our tooling will perform checks and validations. Afterwards, the pull request will be tagged with CLA signed. The tagging process may take up to 1 hour after signing. Please give it that time before contacting us about it.

If you have received this in error or have any questions, please contact us at cla@fb.com. Thanks!

When using pnpm@6 this actually fails builds instead of just being a deprecation warning. For those in a similar boat, my current workaround is to use pnpm@5 until this is merged.

This broke builds on main: 8edeb78. For some reason CircleCI didn't run on this PR.

Had to be reverted in #22792 to unblock main.

@rnarkk Can you think of a solution that fixes the deprecation warning and works with the existing tooling?
