@feathersjs/primus currently hovers around 700 downloads/week compared to @featherjs/socketio with over 14000. Given the large difference and the overhead of maintaining, testing and documenting a core module, v5 will no longer include the @feathersjs/primus* packages.

They will be moved into the ecosystem organization and continue to work as is but rely on community contributions for future updates and maintenance.

This has been done in v5.0.0-pre.1 and is now in beta testing. Upgrade instructions are continuously updated and can be found in the v5 migration guide.
