I looked through the five pages of posts. I hope I didn't miss a similar issue. I thought it was somewhat common.

Newest XMR, AMD RX560, RX570, RX580 and RX VEGA 64
Windows 10 Pro, AMD BlockChain Driver 8/23 release

I just got around one issue with Windows 10 Pro and now I ran the XMR Stak and I got an error called:

thread stuck in device driver

It crashed the whole system and seems to be taking its time to restart.

Did I do something wrong? Is there a fix?

I can do that. OS is Win 10. I was going to try to do that double thread thing but am willing to settle rn.

Thx

Think I get this same error/crash usually about once a day or every other day. Just barely caught the actual error message. Screen was frozen with artifacting. Seems BSOD isn't full screen now? It was half screen and said "thread stuck" at the bottom and it reboots on it's own.

Not 100% positive, but like 95% positive these only started when I updated to 2.4.2 and I was still using blockchain then. I switched to the 18.3.4 driver since I saw everyone say it was much more stable.

Using WIndows 10 and pretty conservative settings (1800 intensity) with Vegas 64/56. These crashes have persisted with Blockchain, 18.3.4, and 18.4.1 drivers.

For me this was caused due to too high OC's. This was fixed lowering the OC's and installing the latest not blockchain driver (Adrenalin Edition 18.5.1, minimal setup). Though i think only lowering the OC's is enough but i haven't tried this.

Memory clocks where clocked too high on one specific card to be exact.

@mikeuding

Yes it works, took 2 weeks to figuring out.
