I like it for bugs. The current template for features seems a bit excessive. I’d suggest just two inputs there:

Bugs 👍 Regarding feature request, I'm neutral towards simpler or more complex. I find the alternatives field interestring, since it encourages end-users to think the problem more thoroughly. |

I've always found the alternatives field adds some critical thinking when I open a feature request, and I find that beneficial, maybe we just combine alternatives and prior art?

I'm testing out a new feature of GitHub for issue forms. It allows us to create forms for users to fill out for issues instead of free-form markdown. It think it might make it easier to fill issues out. You can see previews of the bug form and the feature form.
Do you think this is something we'd want? I like it so far. It's nicer not to have to backspace the placeholder markdown and such.
