Describe the Bug

My macOS olm client shows as "registering" while it is already registered and operational.

Environment

• OS Type & Version: macOS 26.1

• Gerbil Version: 1.3.0

Hi, I can't replicate, but could be environment specific, so two things that'd help me debug this:

1. In Pangolin > More > Preferences > Olm Status can you post what you see?
2. Also, if you tail the logs by running this command, log stream --predicate 'subsystem == "net.pangolin.Pangolin" OR subsystem == "net.pangolin.Pangolin.PacketTunnel"' --level debug --style compact do you see anything fishy when clicking connect.

Found the problem!

Could you try to reproduce and run the following curl command to see if we get the same bad ascii chars like you see above with b4b\^M.

Hum yeah if that works while the desktop app is erroring out maybe this is something strange with swift. Maybe we just need to clean the string before parsing it. @miloschwartz

Pretty sure it is just the desktop app yeah, because the connections are working fine.
A colleague of mine has the same problem so it is not something extremely specific to my device :)

@JobDoesburg I was able to reproduce this by adding many fake peers (10+) to the status response. It seems like an issue with HTTP chunking with a large payload over a unix socket. I was able to fix it in my test environment by adding a content-length header to the API server in Olm which serves the payload. You can see the fix here: fosrl/olm@8152d41

Hoping this fixes the issue you're running into in all cases. This fix will be available in the next release, soon.
