Basic Usage Quick Guide

General Usage

DigiView is set up to be as plug-and-play as possible; in many cases the experience is similar to plugging in an HDMI cable to a monitor. For instance, DigiView Android and DigiView SBC will attempt to auto-launch and start playing video immediately when the goggles and device are connected.

Important Considerations

If you are using the Caddx Vista, it is HIGHLY recommended to turn off "auto-temp protection" (this is done in the goggles settings while the goggles and Vista are on and connected). While in theory the goggles will start outputting video once the craft is armed with auto-temp protection on, we have found in our testing that this extremely inconsistent. If you experience any issues getting video to play, please turn this off.

Connection/Launch order

While there is no specific power on, launch, or connection order set in DigiView, we have found the least amount of issues arise when doing things in the following order:

  • Power on your googles.
  • Power on your craft.
  • Wait for the craft and goggles to be fully connected. You'll know this has happened when you can see an image in the goggles and the DJI OSD has appeared on screen. (this step isn't necessary, but if you experience issues then it is recommended)
  • Plug the USB cable from your goggles into your device (if using an OTG adapter, that goes into your Android device).
    • On Android, you may get a pop up asking for permission to allow your device and goggles to communicate (the pop up will refer to the goggles as "pigeon").
  • If on Desktop, launch DigiView. If using Web, visit live.fpvout.com. If using the Android or SBC versions of DigiView, the app should launch automatically. If not launched within 3-5 seconds, then launch app manually.
  • A few seconds later the video should start playing automatically. If there is no video after a few seconds, or if it's frozen or playing slowly, unplug/replug the USB cable.
    • On Web, you will need to click the "connect to goggles" icon first, then select your goggles from the next pop up (goggles will be listed as "pigeon"). Video should then start.
