If the systems have been restarted and the GDM user selection is active, the systems go into sleep mode after a certain time. This is a problem for the automatic installation in case of a slow internet connection or a large number of simultaneous installations.

GDM still switches display off... but it does not go into standby while installing

That should satisfy the issue, doesn't it? If not, we could try more of the power settings mentioned here... But I think the screen going dark is alright.
