Section 1.5: p. 20

• TARGET_GALAXY is a special name the authors are using for the original SDSS redshift survey, and the 5 objects returned by the query_plate_mjd_fiber command are simply the first 5 (of many!) in that survey
• note that the code provided will yield different results than shown and throw a few errors -- this is expected

Section 3.2.1: p. 81

• "(i.e., d=xave)" means in Equation 3.2.7

Section 4.8.1: p. 165

• "these three methods" includes Knuth's method, unnamed at this point in the text but discussed in 5.7.2
