Hi GO,

Happy new year! Significant progress have been made on the role of the Integrator complex recently, and I will need a bunch of terms related to RNA polymerase II transcription elongation surveillance.

I would first need a new term for the Integrator-PP2A (INTAC) complex.

Thanks

Sylvain

Name: INTAC complex
Definition: A protein complex that stably associates with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II
and ptomotes premature RNA polymerase II transcription termination
of transcripts that are unfavorably configured for transcriptional elongation
by catalyzing dephosphorylation of the C-terminal domain (CTD) of polymerase II
and degrading the exiting nascent RNA transcript.
Child of GO:0032039; C:integrator complex
Synonym: Integrator-PP2A (INTAC)
PubMed=33243860
PubMed=38570683

@sylvainpoux Happy New Year to you! I wonder if INTAC complex should be regarded as IS_A integrator complex or a complex that contains an integrator complex.

@sylvainpoux Please re-open the ticket if the new term needs more work. Thanks.

Hi @raymond91125,

There is no relation between between GO:0160232 INTAC complex and GO:0032039; C:integrator complex? Would it be possible to add a relation (IS_A integrator complex or a complex that contains an integrator complex.)
Thanks
Sylvain

I added INTAC complex has_part some integrator complex.

note that
integrator complex
is defined
A protein complex that stably associates with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II and mediates 3'-end processing of small nuclear RNAs generated by RNA polymerase II. PMID:1623914

This complex, as defined is specific for small nuclear RNAs , should this be broader?
Also maybe the definition should be updated to focus on surveillance

I.e
A protein complex that stably associates with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II and mediates 3'-end processing the surveillance of small nuclear RNAs generated by RNA polymerase II. PMID:1623914

(the end processing is a step in surveillance)

Btw, there is a typo in the definition : ptomotes ;)

Thanks, good catch.

How about:
GO:0032039 integrator complex
Definition: A protein complex consists of at least 14 different subunits that stably associates with the C-terminus of RNA polymerase II, mediates 3'-end processing of small nuclear RNAs, and regulates the transcription of other RNAs. [PMID:16239144, PMID:27427483].
