Merge PR #1963 (Add fixes for single-species carbon simulation)

This commit informs the GCClassic superproject about the following
commits that were pushed to the GitHub geoschem/geos-chem repository:

5d6b1f53e Merge PR #1963 (Add fixes for single-species carbon simulation )

This brings in updates & fixes so that users may run the carbon
simulation with a single advected species.  NOTE: Updates to improve
performance (e.g. only doing unit conversions for advected species)
will be added in a future PR.
