To the folks interested in this one, theres a PR to add support using a third-party tool: #2450

Any feedback would be valuable, I'd be happy to accept that but I have no idea how many people use that / are happy to adopt it, etc.

As an alternative to this there is a docker container that bridges a NUT server to both metrics text and JSON (and therefore homepage). It therefore simultaneously supports Prometheus data scraping and JSON handlers.

This is also being extended to support the native apcupsd daemon in addition to the NUT-tools.

Interesting! I've been looking into data retention for https://github.com/Brandawg93/PeaNUT as well. Ultimately, the goal of the project is to make spinning up a UI to view your UPS devices as simple as possible.

I have no dog in this fight (though this convo is inspiring to get something setup) but seems like PeaNUT does have more traction and in some ways I think perhaps PeaNUT is a better fit for the typical homepage user.

Either way, seems like support for NUT will require a 3rd party tool (for now).

I’ll also note that both options would probably work with a customapi widget so it’s not as if “choosing” one negatively affects the other.

Update: I'm going to close via #2450

We added a little note to the documentation (once it's released) about the other options out there. Again, users are still free to use something else with e.g. customapi (kinda the whole reason we have that)
