Adding data-selectedtext onto an option will allow you to customize the value displayed in the collapsed drop-down, rather than duplicating the text in the listbox.

I needed the ability to change what is displayed in the collapsed dropdown when an item is selected. The demo html file has an example and here's an image example of what I'm talking about: http://screencast.com/t/kz7fPgffXWAt (note that the main text of the dropdown is different than the option text selected).
